Board members must be members in good standing of The Friends. They participate in fund raising activities, including but not limited to raising the financial resources required to meet The Friends goals and objectives, as coordinated by the President, Vice-President and Director of the New Hanover County Extension Service, and establishing general fundraising policies and activities. Oversees The Friends board as a whole and provides resources for furthering the duties and success of fundraising; presides over all meetings of the membership, the Board and Executive Committee.

Performs the duties and exercises the responsibilities of the President in their absence or disability; joins in planning meetings and engages in other duties as assigned by the President.

Responsible for oversight of all funds of The Friends, receipt and recording of contributions and monies due and payable to The Friends from any source, and the disbursement and depositing of all such monies in the name of The Friends.

Responsible for and has oversight of the records of the proceedings of the Board and Executive Committee
